Approximately 50 years after the crusaders of the Fourth Crusade had conquered Constantinople and 242 years before the discovery of America by Christopher Columbus this house was first mentioned as „Tavern in der Schmalzgrub“. Today it is called „Gasthof Eisentor“.
In the guest room you can see the original wooden coffered ceiling from 1584.
This inn is in family ownership since 1895, but
the first extensive renovations and extensions were done by Ludwig and Emilie Daucher in the 60s and 70s.
Our new restaurant, the cozy dining room, the extra room, the Grand Ballroom and also our guest garden in the summer, are perfect for birthdays, christenings, weddings, conferences and corporate parties
